Thanks to Mike, Myles has now mastered the art of blowing raspberries. It started slow but after a few days of practicing at every opportunity (much to our amusement) he mastered it. He now blows raspberries when ever he can, ranging in pitch, length and volume. It's possibly the most adorable thing he's learnt as of yet. One down side... drool, lots and lots of drool.

Myles-Stones | Sleeping Alone
My little boy is growing so fast.
Myles has been sleeping in his own room for a few weeks now but I didn't want to tempt fate by posting this any earlier. He's transitions from sleeping solely in my arms to sleeping alone in his own room. I'm such a proud Mummy. Originally we wanted Myles to sleep in our room for at least 6 month but he would not entertain either the swing crib or the moses basket so things did not go to plan.
I know that when you move a child into their own room is a very controversial subject but I think whenever you choose is a very personal thing and I don't think anyone has the right to judge other parents for their choices in this matter. I know a mother that had to move her baby into their own room at only a few weeks old as she didn't sleep a wink as she spent all night just staring at her baby. I also know a mother who still sleeps with her baby at 7 months old. Neither of these mothers are wrong because they know their child better than anyone.
The one thing that I have found extremely handy when moving Myles into his own room is a baby monitor with video. We chose the Motorola MBP36 Digital Baby Monitor after reading a lot of reviews and we love it. I'll be doing a review on this one very soon as it has quickly become a definite must have.

Myles-Stones - Chuckle Monster
Myles and I spent last Sunday with a good friend of mine who has a little girl called Bonnie. We visited a local outlet and wandered around laughing, talking and spending time enjoying our little ones.
Myles has been laughing for a few weeks now when he's tickled or kissed but Sunday was the first day he laughed without any promts except from having a silly Mummy. My wonderful friend managed to capture this special moment for us.
Spending my days with my little boy is a delight. In fact I cannot stop smiling as I type this post and just thinking about him reminds me just how lucky I am.

Myles-Stones | Rolling Over
Yep you read the title correctly, Myles rolled over from his front to his back yesterday. We were all a little shocked including him if I'm honest. We put him down for his daily tummy time and within second he'd pushed himself up and rolled over. We tested him a few more times and like we expected it wasn't a fluke. Normally he's terrible at tummy time. He prefers to just squirm around on his belly face planting the floor but today he was incredible. I'm so proud of our wonderful little boy. He'll be crawling next so watch this space...
Oh and please try to ignore my incredibly manly voice in this video, we've all had the awful cold that's been doing the rounds and this has been just one of the side effects.

Myles-Stones | 3 Month Update
I can't believe how much my little boy has changed over the past 12 weeks. From the tiny 7lb 9oz baby I brought home who could do nothing but wiggle and open his eyes, to the whopping 13lb 8oz 12 week old who can grab things and who is already teething. It's incredible the change that babies go through physically in those first 12 weeks so I'm happy that I kept up with his weekly pictures so I could see just how much.
These are just a few of my favourite parts of Myles first 12 weeks:
* He's developed such a cheeky personality topped off with a coy little smile, and he's even intentionally ignorant. We play a game where he will look anywhere but at you, even moving out of the way if you put your face right up to his and after about a minute or so he will stop and give you the cheekiest smile. Cracks me up every time.
* He's started to grab for his toes whilst lying slightly propped up. He's been very interested in his feet for quite some time whilst sat up but laying down requires a whole new level of skill.
* He has a remarkable facination with light fittings, particually ceiling ones. Even mid way through a screaming fit if he catches a glimpse of one he immediately calms down.
* He tries to mimic different noises, his particular favourite being oh-ow! Now the older he gets the less interested in this he seems to be. I think this is due to him finding entertainment through toys now he's able to grasp things.
* His ability to burp himself. Now he's not a particularly burpy baby but no amount of burping him will help. If he needs to burp he'll find a way and do it himself. Personally I think that it surprises him just as much as it surprises us at times.
* I love feeling his little hand tickle my side when he's feeding.

* Though he hates tummy time he's developing such strong neck muscles. He's still a tiny bit wobbly at times when he's really tired but he's almost got full neck contol.
* He went for his first swim and abosultely loved it. You'd think he was a fish not a baby.
* His grip is getting so much stronger and he can even turn the page in his book... when he wants to.
* His bright beeming smile when he wakes up and see you for the first time is the best cure for a bad mood. (though I've got to admit that bad moods are very few and far between now I've had this little man)
* The beginnings of a chuckle. He's not quite found his laugh yet but I don't think it's too far off.
* He hates the cookie monster, or anyone using the same voice as the cookie monster. It really upsets him, even bringing out that bottom lip and starting to cry.

Those are just a few points that stand out to me. Obviously there are many more, but we'd be here all day listing the many things I love about Myles. I'm looking forward to watching him grow into a little boy but I do wish he would slow down just a little.

Myles-Stones | Name Train
When we got home from hospital that first night, my Mum was so excited to whip out all the baby gifts that she'd been stock piling throughout my pregnancy. Along with my all time favourite Captain Calamari and other baby essentials, out came the most adorable personalised name train decoration. Now I have no idea where my Mum bought this train set from but after a quick google search it turns out that they are available from a number of retailers, so if you're after one for your special little someone then they're pretty easy to track down. Mind the pun.
It's taken me 11 weeks to get this out of the box and set up but I still love it now, if not more, than I did the first time I laid my eyes upon it. I particularly love the addition of the picture frame (which I'm yet to fill) and the Christmas tree for the holiday season.
What I didn't expect was to find Myles playing with it already. He's getting so good with his hands that we couldn't resist giving in to his curiosity.
[This is not a toy and he was under adult supervision. Obviously]

Myles-Stones | What a Difference a Day Makes
Ok more like 10 weeks than a day but the changes in this picture just blow my mind. My little man Myles was born 23rd January 2014 weighing 7lb 9oz and the first picture was taken when he was about 1 week old. I've not actually put him in the bouncer since as he wasn't really that impressed the first time but when I spotted it in his room the other morning I just couldn't resist.
I knew that he had grown but I never realised just how much. Where has my tiny baby gone? His development over just a few short weeks is incredible. What's better is that he now loves his bouncer. Well love is a pretty strong word, but as long as his best bud captain calamari is with him he's pretty content.
