Hints of Summer

We visited Thrybergh Country Park for our Wedding Anniversary this year. It's quite a drive from our home but it's such a lovely walk in all weathers that it's worth the travel. Since having our son we've found it so important to be able to include him in our special occasions, so a lovely walk in the unexpected sun was perfect. I strapped on the baby carrier (by mothercare incase you're curious) and we wandered around. Mike and I talked and laughed as Myles enjoyed the scenery. We also went for a little retail therapy and then back home again just in time for Myles' bedtime. 

Life definitely is a lot different now that Myles is here but it's different in a good way. We waited so long for him to come along and I feel so blessed to be able to share our life with him. It does feel a little weird to know that Myles wont remember this day but at least we'll have our memories and in the future we'll have these pictures to show him.  

Day at The Deep

We spent a lovely day at The Deep with some of my husband's family the other week. It was nice to spend a little time with people who we don't usually get that much time to see and and I couldn't think of a better place to do this? My husband and I visited The Deep a few years ago and when thinking about how to spend our Wedding Anniversary this year (with our son) it made its way to the top of the list. So when we were invited with family we were rather excited.

We decided to use the babycarrier as walking around a place like that with a pushchair is not my idea of a good time. Such a great choice seen as the lift was broken. It was wonderful watching Myles' little face as he saw the many different fish close up for the first time. Mummy and Daddy had a good time too. The whole day was great and just as good as I remembered from last time.

What's also great about The Deep is that once you pay on your first trip you get a pass for the whole year, so it's a no brainer that we'll be going again soon.

A Little Lighting Love

From the day that Myles was born he has alway been fascinated with lighting. I'm not sure what it is, whether it's the same attraction that moths have to light or that he just enjoys having dark spots in his vision, but whatever it is he loves it. Though I do think it's a baby thing and that they grow out of once they reach a certain age, Myles isn't quite there yet. 

We needed to head off to B&Q to pick up some tiles in an attempt to finish the never ending bathroom, so we took the opportunity to take Myles around the lighting department. I'd wanted to do it for weeks and I'm so glad that we took a little time out of our day to do something that others would find us mad for even thinking of. Myles will probably be one of those people in years to come but it put a smile on both his face and ours. 

The last picture just cracks me up. It looks nothing out of the ordinary but seconds after this picture was taken Myles tried to push a light fitting off the shelf. Luckily Mum and Dad both have fast reflexes, but boy is he strong for a 3 month old.

I should also add that B&Q have some rather fancy lighting choices on offer at the moment. We're not on the look out for anything new at the moment, but if we were I know where we'd be heading.
